My son saw Tim at another Birthday party. After that, my son attended a lot of different birthday parties with different shows. But Tim's show had a huge impact on him. Tim's magic show is all that he wanted for his Birthday. Tim's show was so much fun. Even the adults started asking "where did you find him?" It was fun for both kids and adults. Tim Mannix made my son one happy birthday boy and my son will remember this show for the rest of his life. It was very SPECIAL.

How long does your act last?

My children's shows last approximately 45-60 minutes with a great deal of audience participation.  My stage show is geared to adults which includes more sophisticated magic and illusions and has a length of one hour.

Any show can be extended or shortened as desired.

Do you perform for children?

I have performed primarily for children for the last six years. Children provide me a unique opportunity to unleash my silliness and sense of fun. Adults on the other hand, allow me to express a different level of wit and my unique humor. In my Children's Birthday Party Magic Show, the birthday child receives special attention and a personalized certificate stating that they are a member of The Society of Magicians Assistants having assisted the magician during his performance. Do you use animals in your act?

Absolutely!  Blue, Maybelline or Jack appear at the end of my show.  One of them is magically produced from thin air in the grand finale.

As you may know, animals are so very interesting -- and it becomes difficult to compete with Maybelline should I produce her in the middle of my act. Children tend to become mesmerized by her and naturally, I get upstaged.

Do you have references?

Absolutely. In fact, you may want to avoid any performer who balks at the idea of supplying a list of satisfied clients. You'll receive my list of references either via email or by telephone. If you haven't read some of the testimonials made available on this site, just click HERE.

How long have you been performing magic?

I have been performing magic since I was ten years old.

I got a Marshall Brodien Magic Kit for Christmas in 1972 and started doing shows for my family. Within a year, I performed my first show at St. Anne's, an old folks' home across the street.

Reading all that I could and visiting the magic shop in downtown Oklahoma City, eventually I was hired as a magic demonstrator. Several high school assemblies proved fruitful as I took first place in two different talent shows.

In 1980 as an entree into the corporate magic world, I teamed up with another local magician and represented "The Magic of CMI" at the State Fair of Oklahoma. At the time, I didn't know this was called tradeshow magic.

After a 14-year reprieve from my live performance art, I resumed my magic career after a friend doggedly stayed on me about getting back to what I loved as a child.

That one measly phone call to a gruff old codger with the "stick-with-me-kid-and-I'll-make-you-a-star" attitude paid off. Frankly, I needed someone to take me sight unseen, and he did. I worked two years for him and he only saw my act once. But, I needed the flight time to get my performance legs back.

Today, I thank God for her insistence, although I was somewhat annoyed at the time. Had I not taken a little tiny bit of action, I never would have returned to "the stage" as they say, and discovered how much joy there is in performing live for people.

Since then, I have the time of my life and loving every magic minute of it.

How far in advance do you need to be booked?

Sooner is better of course. It's always best to book as early as possible and get the date and time that you prefer rather than wait too long and be disappointed. Currently I offer a 30-day advance discount for those that plan far in advance. Click here to take advantage of this offer.

How would you best describe your act?

The best way I can describe my act is to say that I do universal type magic. Magic that can be easily adapted to whatever audience or venue that I am playing. By "universal" I mean magic that over the years has come to be known as classic; visually appealing and enthralling to whatever age group experiences it. Whether doing a kid show or adult show, I simply change my focus and patter to adhere to the respective audience. To be honest, most people are surprised to find out how much they enjoy my children's show. But, when the magic is good, invariably people respond positively. Are you a member of the Magic Castle?

Yes, I am a member of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. My first professional performance at the Castle was January 23, 2003.

Becoming a member and actually performing at the Magic Castle fulfilled a lifelong dream for me. Who could've imagined that that kid from Oklahoma City, that used to practice in the utility shed in the backyard, appeared in the Parlor of Prestidigitation of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The day of my performance I was simultaneously nervous and thrilled, but mostly thrilled.

As a benefit to my customers and friends, I willingly offer guest passes allowing entrance to parties of eight or fewer into this famed and exclusive private club.
